Tracing the lines of fatigue— the dip of shoulders, oxen straining a yoke, the coil of a dropped rope— Shoulder Lines Sinking explores descending forms and shapes of exhaustion through soft sculpture and fiber installations. The exhibition was accompanied by a limited edition catalogue featuring an essay by Julia Schwadron.

The East Meadow Trail was a quarter-mile interpretive trail staged at the Sagehen Creek Field Station. Subtly undermining the trust placed in "official" signage, the fifteen trail markers pointed out the objective names of plants in bloom (Giant Red Paintbrush), as well as the subjective state of the landscape (Downtrodden Grass).

High and Dry was a site-specific installation made in collaboration with Kaitlin Bryson. Utilizing the architecture and indoor plants of the space, the installation reinserted the textures and colors of the dry, high-desert landscape back into the "oasis" of the indoor library.

Installed during record snowfalls in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Between Here and There foreshortened a canvas tent with a waxed paper wall. The texture and translucency of the waxed paper mirrored the canvas tent's walls creating a dialogue that pointed to the quiet details of the tent itself.

Canis latrans (coyote, prairie wolf, song dog) are found throughout the continental United States as well as Alaska, Canada, Mexico and parts of Central America. Seen as opportunists, a coyote's diet can range from fruit and rodents to feral cats and small livestock. Despite efforts to eradicate them, coyote populations continue to thrive in both rural and urban settings.

Modest Museums is an ongoing series of visits to small-town museums. Through each of those visits, observations and connections rise to the surface. This project is a collection of those thoughts; not necessarily a full survey, but rather a snapshot of each museum through a personal perspective. Modest Museums is an advocate for and celebration of the homegrown nature of these cultural institutions.
Launched in 2016 with the support of Epicenter and the Nevada Arts Council
